As the renowned rapper and record producer Kanye West has not been active on social media sites and has not made many public appearances lately, fans have started missing him as they discuss his absence in the media.
In early February 2024, the 47-year-old rapper deleted his official Instagram account, @kanyewest, which has over 20 million followers.
The rapper explained his reason for deleting his account, saying he now wants to be legally known by the name Ye while no longer wanting to be referred to as Kanye West.

After some time, Kanye West opened his new Instagram account with the name ‘Ye.’ In his first post, he reads, “MY name is Ye. No brand or number is going to force me to call myself what they want me to still be.“
It’s been almost eight months since he opened a new Instagram account, but he has not uploaded any photos except for his first new instagram opening announcement post.
Due to his lack of activity on social media, many of his fans have started worrying about his mental health, while some people are spreading his missing rumors.
Kanye West might be focusing on his personal life or a new album, leading him to step out of the media spotlight for a while!
It is not the first time Kanye West has gone missing or cut contact with the outside world. In early 2022, he also disappeared from the public and lived a low-key life.
After spending months of a low-key life, the rapper made his first appearance at the BET Awards ceremony, but he covered his whole face with a mask, glasses, and cap.
On the stage, he explains his recent absence from the public spotlight, saying, “You know, I took a little hiatus. I said, I just want to declare myself legally dead for a year. I just want to be off the grid.”

Kanye West came to the stage to present the Lifetime Achievement Award to his long-term good friend Diddy, who he praised as a talented artist.
Further, Kanye or Ye also said to Diddy, “Puff, if I never told you, I love you, you’re my brother,” while giving the speech.
However, as Kanye and Diddy have been good friends for a long time, people have recently started asking where Kanye is when his friend is facing a life-long sentence worth of accusations.

Even though many other rappers and media personalities have opened up about Diddy’s recent ongoing case, Kanye West has not made any comments yet, which is also why people are declaring him missing.
Further, some social media posts claimed that Kanye West might be taking some time off from the spotlight and focusing on his new album.
