In early December, news started circulating that a young woman named Erika Barth had gone missing. People aware of the news tried their best to locate her, and thankfully, she was found safe.
Erika Barth went missing on Tuesday, December 10. Upon discovering this, her family immediately contacted the authorities for help, and the police promised to do their best to find her.
Similarly, her family started raising awareness about her disappearance. Furthermore, the community came in to support her and started sharing the news of her absence, which helped more people become aware of the matter.
Later, it was revealed that Barth was 5’8″ tall with bright red hair, which made it easier for people to identify her. Similarly, she drove a silver Honda Pilot with the California license plate 6EZN113.
Additionally, her family urged people to search for Erika in the area around Joshua Tree National Park. Before Erika Barth went missing, she might have told her family she would be visiting the national park, as many speculated.
Thanks to the efforts of her family and law enforcement, she was found. The community felt relieved after hearing the news. In the same way, they were glad that she had been reunited with her family.
Later, Barth shared an Instagram story in which she explained that she hadn’t disappeared; it was simply a miscommunication. Additionally, she thanked people for helping her family locate her.

Erika joined Champlain Valley High School in 2012. Similarly, she graduated from there in 2016. After graduating, she attended the University of California San Diego, where she pursued a Bachelor of Science degree.
Four years later, she completed her Bachelor’s degree. However, that was not enough for her. In 2020, she earned a Master of Science in Developmental Neuroscience.
Additionally, Erika has been working since high school. At Champlain Valley High School, she worked as an Emergency Medical Responder at the Hinesburg Fire Department. Similarly, she worked there for more than two years before moving on.
Then, in September 2017, she joined Balboa Ambulance as an Emergency Medical Technician. However, she didn’t stay here long and resigned after eight months. Afterward, the Lake George Club offered Barth the role of Head Race Coach.
After working at the club for over a year, she decided to change her path again. Therefore, she joined Scripps Research as a Research Intern. Additionally, working full-time must have affected her studies, so she decided to work part-time.
As a result, she started working as a Teaching Assistant at the University of California, San Diego. Upon graduating, Erika joined UC San Diego Health, where she became a Staff Research Associate III.
Currently, she works at Zentalis Pharmaceuticals as a Senior Research Associate. Furthermore, Barth joined the organization in July 2024 and has been working there for more than six months.
