Tennessee community mourns the loss of Sophie Gough after an alleged tragic road accident!
Sophie Gough, a student at Providence Christian Academy in Murfreesboro, lost her life at the young age of 17 after an unfortunate incident on the road. During the difficult time, Gough’s family hasn’t revealed much about her departure.
The teen’s demise has been discussed on local news, which came as an unexpected event for many as she became the victim of a life-threatening accident in Rutherford County. However, the authorities haven’t released the event details for legal reasons.
Moreover, it is evident that Gough played a significant part in many lives as many of her friends and their parents expressed their sympathy through numerous Facebook and Instagram posts.
Many described the teen as someone with grand ambitions and a dream to travel worldwide.
Before her departure, Gough shared a picture of her senior homecoming party and a trip with her family, hinting that she had no clue of the impending danger in her life. Now, strangers have filled her comments with heartwarming messages.
One user wrote, “It’s been years since we last talked, but my heart is still so heavy. Fly high, gorgeous. Heaven gained a good one. You will be forever missed and remembered. Love you, sweet girl.” Many mentioned that Gough had a warming personality to which people were naturally drawn.
Despite much public attention, Gough’s family hasn’t revealed much about the accident to the media and has requested them to respect their privacy during the difficult time as they cope with the loss of their child.
Sophie Gough’s friends have launched a GoFundMe to help her family cover the funeral expenses!
Despite the helplessness of the situation, Gough’s friends have supported her family and initiated a fundraising effort to raise $25,000 as a tribute. Further, they have received over $12,540 in donations from the platform.
The mother of one of Gough’s best friends, Michelle Thomas, detailed that the teen was a talented PCA cheerleader and participated in numerous tournaments until 9th grade. She also mentioned that her children grew up alongside Gough.
Similarly, Thomas expressed her devastation over Gough’s passing through her Instagram, claiming she didn’t believe the news for a moment.
She added, “17 years old is too young to leave this world. Sophie and Jorie have been friends since 3rd grade. I don’t know what to say or do. I want to take the pain away…RIP.“
Gough had her whole life ahead of her and was in a relationship with Tanner Shockey. The couple planned to attend college together and paired up for the junior prom and homecoming programs.
Additionally, Sophie Gough’s friends have joined Thomas in helping the teen’s parents, Chad and Cindy, and younger sister, Ellie, and have requested others to pray for them to provide strength during the emotional period.
