Recently, an unfortunate event took place in Robert Lee, Texas. The students of Robert Lee Independent School District got into an accident, but thankfully, no one lost their life to this tragic mishap.
On 15th December 2024, a bus carrying the students of Robert Lee Independent School District got into an accident. To be specific, the vehicle carried the girls’ varsity basketball team.
Furthermore, they were returning from a basketball tournament hosted by the Borden County Independent School District.
The bus had collided with a pickup truck. As a result, people worried that the accident might have taken the lives of several children. However, thanks to their luck, no one suffered serious injuries.
As soon as the accident took place, the authorities arrived as quickly as they could. Upon arriving, they treated the injured and helped them calm down.
Speaking more on the matter, the school’s superintendent, Aaron Hood, shared in an interview, “While the accident was major, we are truly thankful for God’s protection of our kids and coaches. Minor injuries were reported but everyone is doing well at this time.”

Following the incident, Aaron thanked the Borden County Sheriff’s Office, DPS, the people who came to help, and the parents who came. Additionally, the parents must have been devasted upon hearing the news of such a tragic event.
Later, Hood also mentioned what a great job everyone at the scene had done to help them. In moments like these, even a simple help can make a big difference in staying calm and motivated.
Furthermore, the Robert Lee Independent School District later released a statement, thanking not just the people who helped but also the other school districts for their support during the incident.
The statement read, “I especially want to thank the numerous school districts, community members, and people across the entire state who immediately began sending up prayers for our kids and coaches.”
In addition, the school appears to be a religious institution. Because in the statement, they mentioned that the students were saved by God.
Similarly, the school wrote, “Our school district truly believes in God’s protection and the power of prayer. It was only by the grace of God that we were able to avoid a horrible tragedy and walk away with minor injuries. We are truly thankful and blessed.”
