After fatally injuring a teacher and a fellow student, which also left six people wounded, Natalie Rupnow made headlines as one of the youngest perpetrators in the States. At just 15, Rupnow later took her life in the same institution.
As the investigation proceeded, authorities discovered radical feminist materials and a manifesto on her hardware. It revealed that she was fixated on school violence, especially the Columbian massacre of 1999.

Moreover, netizens mentioned that the trans claims came from troll groups who circulated edited pictures of the perpetrator. One X user added that using such a tragedy to push a hateful narrative was beyond irresponsible.
However, the digging continued as people discovered her DeviantArt profile under the username ‘crossixir.’ There, her bio included the they/them pronouns, which further fueled the trans speculation.
To verify the claims, the user created an account on the platform and found that the they/them pronouns are a default setting on the website. Additionally, the blame has shifted to Natalie’s parents for their lack of presence in her life.

Looking back at her family history, her parents had Natalie at a young age and split immediately. The teen often spent time with her single father in their home in Madison, Wisconsin.
Further, her father, Jeff Rupnow, worked at Kelley Williamson Mobil in Illinois. During the weekends, he often took Natalie to firearm training and mentioned that they had joined the NBSC last spring.
One of Jeff’s last Facebook posts includes Natalie aiming at a flying clay pot with a shotgun. In her manifesto, the perpetrator revealed that she got access to the firearm through ‘lies, manipulation, and her father’s stupidity.’
Her manifesto provided a look into her troubled life as she described her parents as ‘scum.’ Natalie revealed that she had planned to take her life at a younger age but instead planned the mass violence.
Similarly, Natalie sent the 6-page statement to her long-distance boyfriend hours before the incident. Despite not meeting in real life, her boyfriend described her as a gentle and kind soul.

Additionally, the perpetrator emphasized that she is working alone to save her partner or family from bearing the blame. She wrote, “You can’t and you never will know, you never cared too much to know anything about me.“
Regardless of such actions, her mother hasn’t revealed herself. Many looked for her details and claimed that Mellissa Rupnow, a service consultant, might be her other parent. However, such information hasn’t been confirmed officially.
Meanwhile, officials claimed that they aren’t planning to charge the parents for the crimes their 15-year-old daughter committed. They have cooperated in the case so the court could pardon them.
