Ted Drewes parking lot accident left 6 people injured with the responsible 19-year-old driver on the run!

The charge for the driver is yet to be decided.

Reports suggest at least six people were affected by a car accident outside Ted Drewes Frozen Custard in South St. Louis. An ongoing investigation is being conducted to find the cause of the incident.

According to Mitch McCoy, the director of public affairs and information for St. Louis, the accident occurred around 8 pm near the Ted Drewes parking lot. Officers received an anonymous call that detailed the incident.

Initially, the investigation revealed that multiple people had been hit by a car. After evaluating the injuries, they discovered that one of the victims had sustained fatal head injuries.

Fortunately, the accident didn’t cause severe trauma to other victims, but paramedics transported them to the nearest hospital for emergency care. The youngest injured person was 12, while the oldest appeared to be in his 70s.

Moreover, the vehicle had been traveling westbound on Chippewa when it pulled into the parking lot. However, the driver lost control of the vehicle, striking over 6 six people on its path.

The investigation is ongoing as officers are trying their best to alert officers in the area about the incident. Officials started utilizing real-time crime centers to track the driver on the run.

Additionally, they were looking at cameras for a possible direction of travel. To their surprise, the 19-year-old driver returned to the scene and had an interrogation with the officer.

Similarly, investigators are trying to figure out what happened between the travels that led to him crashing the vehicle into passersby. The identity of the teen driver hasn’t been revealed due to legal reasons.

St. Louis Police Department interviewed each victim of the Ted Drewes car accident!

Besides the pedestrians, the car crashed into a makeshift tent near the parking lot. One of the stalls installed as a Christmas tree farm in the area included the tent.

However, due to the ongoing investigation, officers couldn’t confirm if the car hit the building behind the stall. The accident occurred soon after residents showed concerns about safety measures for speeding cars.

Others speculated that the driver targeted Ted Drewes during the accident, as the car lacked a license plate and the driver was missing. But, the officials haven’t confirmed such claims.

Further, Facebook users noted that the St. Louis area wasn’t unfamiliar with hit-and-run cases. One user wrote, “There really is just no safe place anywhere anymore. I hope injury lawyers don’t bankrupt Ted Drewes. Sad that I even think about it.

Additionally, McCoy appeared for an interview following the announcement and provided brief details of the case. People found it unusual that the driver had returned to the scene within hours.

Reports suggested the teen’s ulterior motives, and McCoy tried to clarify the situation. The driver admitted that injuring several people scared him.

McCoy stated, “Maybe passebys started banging on his window. He didn’t know what to do. He went and told his family, and told them what had happened. They must have told him to return.

The officer asked for the media’s assistance in the case and requested that they expect an update within a few hours. McCoy also urged social media users to maintain boundaries with the victim and their families.
