Lauren London’s parents, Gary and Terri, comes from different ethnic backgroud as her dad is Jewish and mom, Black!
American actress Lauren London, best known for playing the character Amira in the 2023 movie You People, comes from a diverse background, with her parents representing a blend of African-American and Jewish heritage.
While opening up about her childhood during an exclusive talk with People Everyday podcast host Janine Rubenstein a year back, Lauren stated, “My dad is Jewish, my mom is black.”
Lauren London further stated that she knows very little about her dad’s Jewish background since she never had a chance to explore that side, as her parents separated when she was just three years old, and since then, her mom raised her primarily.

Growing up, Lauren London struggled pretty much with her biracial identity, about which she opened up in an interview with Kathleen Cross in 2011.
She said, “I do remember being teased by my cousins on my mom’s side for not being black enough, and then I’d spend the summer with my dad and be sent to all-white summer camps where I was “that black girl….”
But, as time passed, she figured it out herself and embraced her roots. She stated, “I’m a Black woman like my mother, and I love who my father is, and I love both sides of me.”
Lauren London said ‘got the blueprint from my mother,’ when asked about the challenges of being a single working mom!
It’pretty known that Lauren London is the mother of two sons, Kameron Carter, 15, and Kross Ermias Asghedom, 8, whom she considers her motivating factor.
Kameron is her older son, whom she welcomed with her former partner and rapper Lil Wayne in 2009, and her younger son Kross, born from her relationship with Nipsey Hussle in 2016.
About two and half years after Kross’ birth, Lauren London lost her baby’s father, Nipsey, in a tragic incident, and since then, she has been raising both her sons single-handedly.
Being a single and working mother obviously comes with lot of challenges, and regarding the matter, she opened up in an interview with Essence in 2020, saying, “It’s not easy but I’m not the first to do it.”
Further, she credited her mom, Terri, for managing her responsibilities with ease, saying, “I got the blueprint from my mother, who was a working mom, so I just get it done.”
