The national police of Ireland, Garda, has now launched the homicide investigation of eight-year-old Kyran Durnin, who went missing on August 28 with his mother, Dayla Durnin, from his family home in Drogheda, Co Louth, Ireland.
According to the Garda, despite their extensive inquiries, they could not locate Kyran, find any information or clues about his current whereabouts, or find any solid evidence to confirm his existence.
Therefore, presuming Kyran Durnin is no longer alive and became a victim of violent homicide, Garda commenced the homicide investigation.
So far, they have not made any arrests, and the investigation is ongoing.
Rhonda, Kyran Durnin’s grandma, last saw him on Wednesday, August 28, before going to bed!
According to reports, Kyran Durnin was last seen around 11 p.m. on August 28, and his family reported him missing on August 30. Since then, the Durnin family has not heard a word from the mother and son.
The missing boy, Kyran Durnin, was 3 feet 3 inches tall, had a medium build, and had brown eyes and brown hair. He was wearing a navy zip-up windbreaker and black runners.
For the past seven weeks, Gardai have extensively searched for them, all while urging the young mother, Dayla, to notify them about their safety.

Moreover, Rhonda Byrne Tyson, grandmother of the missing Kyran Durnin, also appealed for Dayla to contact her as soon as possible. She said, “Please pick up the phone and tell us you and Kyran are okay.“
As per her, Dayla left a note on the table saying she needed to get away for a few days before she vanished with her son Kyran Durnin. Rhonda also mentioned that her daughters, Isla and Laseigh, also miss her.
Following the homicide investigation, a Garda spokesperson stated, “Following enquiries to date, investigating Gardai now believe that Kyran is missing presumed d*ad.” Additionally, the investigation is currently led by a Senior Investigation Officer.
They stated,
“Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, will be welcomed by the investigation team. This information will be treated in the strictest confidence.”
