According to the Missing People in America database, witnesses last saw Jennifer Hawkins on November 26, 2024. The missing had recently left the Lexington hospital and was still in her scrubs.
Moreover, her family reported her missing a day later as she failed to report at the facility. Authorities released the 53-year-old’s photo for public awareness as an extensive search began.
The Danville Police Department had issued pamphlets in the area and circulated them in the community. Further, neighborhood areas and suspicious locations near the hospital had been searched.
However, officials failed to find substantial evidence in the case and continued to request that the residents contact them if they spotted Hawkins.
More than two weeks into the case, officials had failed to find any substantial evidence, as Hawkins had left the hospital without her cell phone or other traceable objects.
Her family members continued to rely on important information from the police and conducted a local event to gather volunteers for the search team.

Fortunately, police delivered good news to Hawkins’s family on December 10, 2024, as the victim was located safely. Law enforcement agencies confirmed that Hawkins was in a good state.

However, the police department has refused to comment on the issue as Hawkins and her family adjust to the difficult period. Many assume that Hawkins might need immediate medical attention.
As Hawkins had disappeared in her hospital gown, many speculated that she was a mental health patient who had run away from the institution. Her running away in the gown didn’t appear to be a normal detail in the case.
Later, her colleague, Emily Tomlin, clarified the situation. To address the rumor, Tomlin added that Hawkins worked as a nurse at a federal prison. Moreover, she wore a pair of her work scrubs at a local hospital.
After authorities located her safely, the lack of a family statement led to confusion among the masses, as many assumed Hawkins to be the pageant winner.
