Jake Evans, the young boy from Parker County, confessed to the homicide of his 48-year-old mother, Jami Diane Evans, and his 15-year-old sister, Mallory Anne Evans, by him in their home in Aledo, Texas, back in 2012.
Evans, who was 17 at the time, confessed about his horrible act to 911 on October 4, 2012, where he explained how he slaughtered his own mother and sister, stating, “ I felt like they were just suffocating me, in a way, I’m pretty, I guess evil.”
After the call, Parker County deputies found Jami Evans and Mallory’s body with several firearm wounds inside their house in the 150 block of River Creek Lane in Annetta South.
The officials immediately arrested him. However, the court decided to release him in exchange for a $750,000 bail bond.
His unlawful and terrible act was unbearable for his father, Darryl Evans, who refused to pay the bail money, stating that even if he could afford the money, he wouldn’t spend it for Jake’s bail.
Furthermore, Prosecutor Robert Duboise said in a 2015 interview that Jake’s family has forgiven him for what he did, stating, ” What that really tells you is the absolute power of forgiveness of this family… they’ve forgiven him to a depth that should inspire everybody in this case.”
Jake Evans is currently serving his sentence, while his father, Darryl Evans is living a private life
During his 2014 trials, Jake was sent to a state mental hospital after the judge ruled him incompetent to stand trial, where he was in a hospital in Vernon for up to 120 days.
Likewise, after several psychologists analyzed his competency in 2015, Jake Evans received a sentence of 45 years of imprisonment, with a statement declaring that he must serve at least half his sentence before becoming eligible for parole.
Moreover, a letter with several signs from Evans’ relatives on his hearing stated although they support a lesser sentence, 45 years is a “fair plea bargain under all circumstances.”
They also stated that they wish to close this chapter in order to continue healing as a family. Regarding recent news about Jake Evans and his father, Daryll Evans, Jake is currently serving his sentence, whereas Daryll is living a private life away from social media.
However, we can assume that Daryll Evans might be busy with his family, including his parents and his daughters, Emily and Audrey.
