Aira Shiratori is not the daughter of Acrobatic Silky although she called her mother once!

In the previous week’s episode six of Dandadan, a dangerous woman, Acrobatic Silky, a yokai, appeared and referred to Aira Shiratori as her daughter.

However, Aira does not seem to recognize her at all, though in a flashback clip when she was a child, she called Acrobatic Silky, a mother.

After that, many Dandadan fans were wondering whether they were mother and daughter with a tragic back story.

Though there indeed was a sad story behind Acrobatic Silky, Aira Shiratori is not her daughter, and they aren’t biologically related.

The new episode of Dandadan shed light on the sad backstory of Acrobatic Silky!

While manga readers are already aware of the relationship between Acrobatic Silky and Aira Shiratori, anime-only viewers only got to know about it in episode seven of Dandadan.

In the latest episode, the eye-watering story of Acrobatic Silky unfolded, which explained why she referred to Aira as her daughter.

It appears that Acrobatic Silky was also a struggling human mother who had lost her daughter and took her life in the process.

While alive, she worked two jobs to make her daughter’s stomach full and led a loving family despite financial struggles. Acrobatic Silky was teaching her daughter ballet, which she loved dearly.

Talking about tragedy, one of her jobs was selling her body to dangerous people, and she had once lent money to buy a dress for her daughter but could not pay it back in time.

So, they took her daughter away while she got injured heavily when she tried to protect her.

Thinking about what they might have done to her daughter, she took her own life by jumping off the building, all while making a ballet move. That’s when she turned into a yokai, Acrobatic Silky.

Meanwhile, Aira had also lost her mother, but when she was running in the street, she mistook Acrobatic Silky for her mother.

When Aira said, “Mother,” it brought peace to Acrobatic Silky’s depressed soul. As a yokai who had forgotten her human memories but had a glimmer of having a daughter, she began to follow Aira as if she were her own daughter.
