American professional wrestler James Marchese, who goes by his ring name Jimmy Lloyd, barely escaped his demise in Game Changer Wrestling (GCM), where he got stabbed near his neck with scissors. Despite returning to the ring, the accident haunts Jimmy Lloyd and his career.
Recently, Jimmy Lloyd faced Shane Mercer in a deadly match where the fighters left the ring bloodied with injuries. The match took interesting turns as Lloyd and Mercer pushed each other to their limits.
Further, Lloyd posed for the Pacific North page after the match, flaunting his arm injuries. The intense match made many viewers curious about the wrestler’s history as he seemed unfazed by the cuts his opponent gave in the ring.
A quick look into his previous match revealed that Lloyd isn’t new to such antics in the rings, as he had survived a life-threatening accident at the hands of Brandon Graver, who goes by the stage name G-Raver.
During the June 1, 2019, match, G-Raver pushed a wooden board with scissors attached against his abdomen and advanced toward Lloyd, who was tied to the ropes. Lloyd tried to counter the move, but G-Raver cornered him and kicked the plank into his face.
However, the scissors ran deep into Lloyd’s chest area, causing excessive bleeding. While medics assisted Lloyd, G-Raver spat on his face and yelled that he wouldn’t stop until the wrestler had major injuries like him.
This opened incidents from their past where Jimmy Lloyd planned an attack that could’ve cost G-Raver’s life, as his team had to admit him to the hospital for days following the accident.
Jimmy Lloyd claimed he was ready for all the challenges that wrestling has in store!
Previously, during a 2019 Chicago wrestling event, G-Raver faced Llyod, which led to an intense situation towards the end of the match. Llyod pulled up a ladder tapped with light bulbs from under the ring to attack his opponent.
Moreover, he set the ladder up and started claiming it; however, a slight loss of balance caused G-Raver to fall, landing his arm first on the top of the ladder and the light tubes. This led to a severe cut in his arms and excessive blood loss.
Soon, the emergency team rushed him out of the ring, and doctors announced that G-Raver was unfit to continue the match. The fall had barely missed an artery, causing long-term nerve damage for the wrestler.
Since then, G-Raver has considered Llyod one of his nemeses and continues to dominate the matches. In addition to his encounters with G-Raver, Llyod has faced extreme injuries in a match with Takeda.
Like his previous chest incident, Takeda pushed scissors attached to a wooden plank onto the wrestler. The sharp object landed near his neck, and the referee blew the whistle to postpone the match immediately.
Later, many people speculated that the wrestling events followed a script due to the frequency of similar incidents. Others spread the rumors that the wrestler had passed away from the reckless incident.
Similarly, people circulated the clips online and remarked that such violent duels must be stopped, as they have become more dangerous than entertaining. One wrote, “Watching live, this moment made me a little sick. I legit thought he was going to pass away. No fun. No more scissor boards, please!“
However, brutal matches continue to be broadcast. Llyod will face Sonico on January 17, 2025, during the Death in the West event in Portland, Oregon.
