Former NCIS: New Orleans star Zoe McLellan went missing from Los Angeles with her then-9-year-old son. Authorities have been constantly searching for the actress, who seems to have wiped away all traces of her whereabouts.
According to the police reports, the 50-year-old faced felony charges for moving away with her son without prior notice to her husband, Jean-Pierre Guy Gillain. The couple met on the sets of NCIS.
Previously, Gillian served four months in prison in connection to physical violence against their son. Moreover, the investigators suggested that he had committed the crimes over a year while living in Metairie.
However, the charges were later dropped as Gillian was in New Orleans with his wife. The couple divorced a year later, but he revealed several things about their marriage that raised public concerns.
Before their official separation, McLellan had moved herself and her son from Louisiana, where NCIS: New Orleans was filmed, to Toronto. Gillian accused his wife of child abduction and filed a case.
The court ruled that the actress’ action wasn’t illegal as she wasn’t acting in bad faith. The judge concluded that McLellan took her son along as she had to travel frequently for work.
Moreover, authorities suggested that the child have a stable relationship with his primary caregiver, his mother. They added that Sebastian was “more emotionally secure with his mother than his father.“
Meanwhile, the actress mentioned that her husband filing for a divorce was a move to inherit her earnings. Gillian demanded joint custody of their child, and McLellan revealed that he was hoping to earn child support.
A year later, Zoe McLellan went missing with her son, probing the team for an emergency investigation. Authorities issued a warrant for the actress on May 14, 2021.
Zoe McLellan suggested that her ex-husband was abusive towards their son!
The couple had a difficult period in their relationship before their divorce. They kept contact and dated for years before tying the knot and working on a legal fund dedicated to helping minors.
After Gillain was detained for his alleged crimes, McLellan maintained contact with him in prison through a familiar friend, Charlie Barber. The actress often requested Barber to take care of her son.
However, Barber found such requests unusual and admitted, “Why would she let her child go in a room with another man after claiming the dad did what he did?“
