Reports surfaced that Peter Droz, known popularly as WholeWheatPete, had been detained, and the officers had put him in the offender’s registry. Many claimed the creator had been banned from cosplaying events for his actions.
Moreover, the creator flashed underage participants at the events, leading to the fiasco. Many cheered for news like WholeWheatPete, which had a history of controversy and questionable behavior.
In a previous event, the creator dressed up as Zeitsu from Demon Slayer and attended the Pyrkon. However, he started launching himself at every Nezuko cosplayer, causing a ruckus at the event.
He uploaded a similar video on YouTube, where one of his friends dressed up as a female character. The duo wrestle and tackle each other, and everyone around them has a distraught expression.
Additionally, the video amassed over 15.5 million views on the platform. Since then, WholeWheatPete’s action has been heavily criticized.

Many hoped the creator would be arrested and rejoiced at the recent news. Users added jokes to the moment and wrote, “Hearing WholeWheatPete getting arrested wasn’t on my 2024 list!“
Hours later, the creator took to Instagram and claimed the rumors were false. He stated that the claims weren’t valid and were spread to forcefully take him out of the cosplaying event.
Similarly, he wrote, “It not only harms my reputation but also the community. Using false report is a shameful tactic, and I am extremely disappointed in this community.“

During a Texas-based convention, the creator was under fire when he and his other friend, D-Piddy, referenced the recent assault case of the rapper. Many claimed that WholeWheatPete should be arrested for his actions.
The criticism unraveled as the rapper was under investigation for dozens of physical violence against women and children. Moreover, Bieber was rumored to be one of his victims.
Many pointed out that the cosplay was insensitive, as joking about crimes wasn’t the norm in the community. Soon after, WholeWheatPete released a public apology through his YouTube channel.
He acknowledged his error and said, “I’m so genuinely mad at myself for this. I’m doing my best to accept full responsibility, and I’ll be taking an extended leave from content.“
Similarly, the creator claimed he wanted to bring a light-hearted theme to the event and didn’t have any excuses for his inappropriate actions. Despite his taking down the content, other sources continued to post the media online.
Further, other cosplayers commented on WholeWheatPete’s lack of ethics, explaining that the community needs better judgment.
Previously, WholeWheatPete had been banned from Twitch for annoying hotel staff and guests. The creator knocked on several doors and sprinted through the hallway, leading to charges of violation of privacy.
