Television personality and record executive Simon Cowell revealed that he met Liam Payne before his funeral, emphasizing the artist’s mental health. However, Cowell has been the target of online hoaxes where users mourn his demise in an alleged car accident.
Days after fans grieved over Payne’s unfortunate fall at the CasaSur Palmero Hotel in Argentina, Simon Cowell took to Instagram to express his feelings. Through his statement, the producer mentioned how kind, thoughtful, and talented the former One Direction member was.
Cowell added that he had met Payne before his accident, and they talked about their days on the X Factor. Moreover, the producer claimed that Payne significantly affected the fans, as the band became more like a family.

However, such statements didn’t receive the expected outcome as Cowell soon became the subject of online criticism. Users claimed that the producer spoke about Payne not out of respect but to save his public image, as he was one of the forming forces behind One Direction.
Further, the hate comments towards Simon Cowell began to pile up as many YouTube videos surfaced talking about his funeral. In one of the videos, the producer is inside a casket and is being around by men for final rituals.
In another instance, someone uploaded Cowell’s video on the Deceased Celebrities page and over a hundred fake posts about people passing away. The page detailed that the producer was in a coma and implied that Cowell had little time to live.
Regardless of the rumors, Cowell is alive and well. He recently announced that he is stepping away from Britain’s Got Talent following last week’s news about Payne. The producer took the step to take a break from the media.

The producer sustained severe injuries in 2020 after he fell from an electric bicycle he was testing at his home in Malibu, California. The accident cost Cowell his health as he underwent an intense six-hour surgery.

In an interview with TODAY, Cowell mentioned, “It was painful, it wasn’t great. However, I was so unfit before the accident. I didn’t know how unfit I was until I had to do all this stuff afterwards.“
The producer was fortunate that his injuries weren’t life-threatening, even though his X-ray revealed that his spine had been shattered. Without his medical team’s care, it would’ve been difficult for Cowell to walk, and he underwent several physiotherapy sessions before returning to the 18th season of America’s Got Talent.
However, in 2022, Cowell was in a similar situation as he ended up in the hospital with a broken arm, severe facial wounds, and possible concussion after a crash on his e-bike. The producer spent several days in the medical facility before being discharged under observation.
Similarly, he faced medical complications and returned to eating animal-based food again to rebuild his strength. Previously, in 2019, Cowell had adopted a vegan lifestyle after doctors advised him to change his diet for health reasons.
