Shock seeped in among netizens as the chilling video of Sibusiso Lawrence admitting to his crimes made the news. He posted a Facebook story featuring the lifeless body of his ex-girlfriend over a minor dispute.
Previously, Sibusiso Lawrence posted a video alongside his ex-girlfriend, Nontobeko Cele, and their child. The family was in a car as Lawrence encouraged the child to dance along to the song.
However, a terrifying detail caught many’s eye as Cele had noticeable scars from abuse. Moreover, she remained quiet in the backseat despite Lawrence’s constant address.

The following day, Lawrence turned to Facebook and posted a graphic video and image of his girlfriend. The perpetrator was wearing the same clothes as in the previous car video.
To everyone’s shock, Lawrence detailed how he had exterminated his girlfriend after taking her to a distant location. The image featured Cele in bloodied clothes with fatal injuries on her neck.
Many speculated that he might have used a sharp object to stab her at a close range. In the video, Lawrence seemed out of breath and had blood all over his face and clothes.
Additionally, he claimed that he was happy to see all of his followers. Lawrence stated, “I hope everyone will stay safe and healthy. I am very happy to be here.” He had stretches all over his face, presumably signs of struggle.
Before getting a feature on the news for his heinous crimes, Sibusiso Lawrence was a primary school teacher. He had been dating Cele for over two years and mentioned that she had plans to leave him.
However, such a decision didn’t sit right with Lawrence, and the only way out of the situation was to put her to an end. He detailed the crime with such composure, which further scared the viewers.

During the Facebook upload, Lawrence added that his ex-girlfriend had born a child to another man. She had also allegedly drained him financially, causing more household troubles.
Cele had ended the relationship right before the couple became eligible to receive support from the Road Accident Fund (RAF). However, Lawrence didn’t explain why they would receive the sum.
As the video garnered wide attention from netizens, many urged the officials to take serious action. Further, Lawrence’s actions opened a discourse on people’s behavior in a relationship.

Others showed concern for the children that Cele left behind. One of the Facebook users wrote, “Men know this- spending on a woman doesn’t mean you own her. Women know this- any man who spends heavily on you has low self esteem.“
As the controversial discourse continued, the KwaZulu-Natal Police spokesperson, Colonel Robert Netshiunda, gave a public statement. He added that Lawrence had been found hanging from a tree on December 18, 2024.
Moreover, his last location was in the Malangeni area in Umzinto, a short distance from where he ended his ex-girlfriend’s life. The investigation is still ongoing as Lawrence’s family members are being tracked.
