The Strokes’ lead vocalist and primary songwriter, Julian Casablancas, has been linked with many individuals but doesn’t seem to have a girlfriend, as he maintains a mysterious persona online.
Julian Casablancas is a prominent name in experimental rock. Since his band’s founding, he has released six studio albums, including a solo album, Phrazes for the Young, and three with the Voidz.
Given his popularity, fans have discussed his relationship status, as the singer prefers not to boast about his personal life. Previously, Casablancas married Juliet Joslin in 2005, and she was the assistant manager of the Strokes at the time.

During their marriage, the couple appeared publicly in charity galas, and Joslin helped the band to direct their documentary, In the Transit. Moreover, she had cameo appearances in several music videos.
The pair welcomed their first child, Cal, in January 2010, and their second child, Zephyr, arrived in March 2015. However, their relationship worsened as many speculated Casablancas wrote songs dissing his wife.
Further, the couple finalized their divorce in 2019, which affected the singer as he started having several affairs that didn’t seem to last long. Soon after, Casablancas started dating the band’s roadie, Kaya, who was reportedly half his age.
A source close to the singer revealed that Casablancas had kept his divorce private for over a year but wanted to explore with more people before settling in. Similarly, the singer met Kaya during one of the band’s U.S. tours and became close.
At that time, Julian Casablancas was spotted with his then-girlfriend at significant events and concerts before the pandemic. During the country-wide lockdown, rumors arose that Casablancas had been living with Kaya.

Despite ending a decade-long marriage, Casablancas continued to maintain a close relationship with his ex-wife and refrained from discussing his failed marriage for the privacy of Joslin and his children.
Moreover, the singer was happy with Kaya before secretly parting ways for undisclosed reasons. Apart from Kaya, Casablancas has been in a relationship with Christina Connell, who later left the singer and married Cedric Bixier-Zavala.
However, Kaya continued to post pictures with Casablancas, confusing the fans, who wanted answers about their relationship. One of their followers commented, “She has a habit of posting old pics from 2- 3 years ago of when they were together, to make people think they still spend time together.“

When people pointed out Kaya’s behavior, she deleted her posts and finally deactivated her Instagram account. This made it difficult to decide the nature of their bond, as many speculated that they had an open relationship.
After such troubles with Kaya, Casablancas was spotted hand-in-hand with Donna Dimitrova, a graphic designer from Chicago. The 25-year-old had recently moved to New York before appearing as a date for the singer at the White House Correspondents Dinner in Washington, D.C.
Despite the brief appearance, Casablancas never confirmed his relationship with Dimitrova and has appeared single since then.
Following his failed relationship, the singer has focused on making new music and collaborating with artists after moving back to the East Coast in Manhattan.
With his band, The Voidz, Casablancas released their third studio album, Like All Before You, on September 24, 2024, with hopes to fuse experimental sounds and pop hooks. Charli XCX has set the singer to feature on her Brat remix album later this year.
