Davion Blessing, known professionally as Dave Blunts, paid tribute to the late rapper while strapped to an oxygen tank, raising concerns about his health at such a young age. Fans mentioned that Blunts should prioritize his well-being before music.
On November 30, 2024, fans marked the Juice WRLD Day event and invited several artists to express their emotions. Among prominent names was Dave Blunts, who managed to draw the audiences’ attention for all the wrong reasons.
The 23-year-old artist climbed up the stage with an oxygen tube and sat on the couch to perform. Moreover, his lyrics included seducing relationships with hospital staff.
Further, Blunts addressed the crowd before performing and screamed, “Aye, Chicago! Do y’all have a problem with me sitting down on this stage?” Later, he took a hit on Snoop Dog for his comment on Blunts’ weight.

Previously, Snoop Dog added that Blunts should ‘put down the chicken wings and Tata chips.’ The singer mentioned that Blunts might break some chairs on stage if he continues to gain mass.
Due to such comments, Blunts took the opportunity amidst the cheering audience and stated, “Exactly, so get the f**k off my sh*t, Snoop Dogg. You think you funny? You don’t know what it’s like to fight for your life every damn day.“
The rapper vaguely detailed his condition and claimed that the oxygen tank was the only thing keeping him alive. Blunts remarked that people shouldn’t speak before understanding another’s situation.
However, online users haven’t held back their hurtful comments toward Blunts. Many of the attendees claimed they regretted buying tickets to watch the rapper sing from his couch.
Others added to the comments, writing, “I’m curious at this point what he can do. I can’t wait to see him doing this when he’s in his sixties.“
Dave Blunts had to be wheeled down from the stage after his performance!
Before his recent appearance, Blunts had been hospitalized for over a week due to health concerns. The rapper shared several pictures from his hospital bed but continued to make music during his stay.
Further, the rapper mentioned his wish to return to the stage as an ode to Juice WRLD, as his music had helped Blunts through a difficult period. WRLD passed away in 2019 after a substance overdose.
Blunts remarked that the late singer’s music was his favorite before he became widely popular. He also claimed that WRLD’s lyrics gave the artist a sense of vulnerability and his experience.
For these reasons, the rapper had a strong impression of WRLD and wanted to impact him emotionally. Despite comments on his health, Blunts claimed that he had endured bullying to reach this stage.
Previously, Dave Blunts revealed that he started making music at the age of six but started to take the art seriously after quitting his job at eighteen. Initially, he gathered a strong fanbase in Mexico.
During an interview with Complex, he stated, “I’ve always wanted to make music, but I never had the resources. But, I would make music on my Android phone with Dollar Store headphones.“
However, in 2022, Blunts briefly quit music and deleted all his catalogs. His mother salvaged some of his recordings and encouraged him to pursue music in a different style.
Over the years, his works have been described as very comedic. His lyrics include dark humor and clap back to several influential hip-hop figures. Blunts wants to include new characters in his song.
Despite the recent hateful comments, fans have remained loyal to the artist and claimed that Blunts is experiencing difficulty with his health and well-being.
