The Loudoun County Sheriff’s Office issued a notice for Abigail Roethlein, who had been missing from her hometown. The community came together to locate and safely return her to her family.
According to the police report, the 34-year-old was last seen around 6:00 a.m. on November 19, 2024. Roethlein had walked her dog to the 40,000 block of the Gap Road in Leesburg.
The surveillance footage near the road showed her walking through the intersection but didn’t capture her final location. After an hour, her dog returned, but Roethlein didn’t return home.
Moreover, Roethlein wore a white jacket, black hoodie, and grey sweatpants during her disappearance. However, family members notified us that her phone couldn’t be tracked for undisclosed reasons.
Authorities had listed Roethlein as an endangered victim due to medical reasons. The victim often shared about her mental health through social media and recently posted about her struggle with hypomania.
She detailed that her condition led to changes in sleep patterns and depressive episodes. The police had deployed a search team in the area, who could not find evidence regarding the case.
As her family became concerned about Roethlein’s safety, an anonymous message came to the police, hinting at her location in Hancock Place in Leesburg. The search team immediately reached the location and continued the investigation.
Abigail Roethlein was found on a property near her last location!
After missing for over 24 hours, reports showed that Marci Seagle Huber had fortunately spotted Abigail Roethlein on her property. Huber confirmed that the victim didn’t have any injuries and rested in her backyard.
Further, when they located her, Huber reported that Roethlein appeared agitated and hungry. The family dropped the victim at the police department between 8:30 and 9:00 a.m. and prayed for her safety.
However, authorities haven’t revealed why Roethlein had left her dog alone and went on a different path. They have requested the public to provide her with some space as she has been recovering from the trauma.
Soon after Huber’s report, the Sheriff’s Office issued a public statement on November 20, 2024: “Abigail has been located safe. We would like to thank the public for their assistance.“
Similarly, information came forward that Roethlein is the mother of four children: Ada, Rowen, Leland, and Trev. She lived with her husband, Jacob Roethlein, in their Virginia home.
Despite being a stay-at-home mother, Roethlein had started working on Bare Knuckle Fabrication with her partner. She used her Facebook account to sell different wood items made by the company.
Now, many pray for her quick recovery and have sent encouraging words to her family during the difficult time. They assume Raethlein will return to her usual duties within a few days.
