Tina Peters, former County Clerk of Mesa County, Colorado, has been sentenced to nine years in prison at the age of 69 after being proven guilty of unauthorized access to election machines.
The case of stolen election conspiracy theories has been going on for a long time. Tina Peters was accused of allowing unauthorized people to access sensitive data from the 2020 United States presidential election.

The court found her guilty of allowing a man to misuse a security card to access the election data in August 2024, and on Thursday, October 3, the court sentenced her to nine years in prison.
During the trial, Peters defended herself, saying, “I’ve never done anything with malice to break the law. I’ve only wanted to serve the people of Mesa County.”
Tina Peters is currently at age 69 and will be around 78 when she exits prison in late 2033.

Their son Remington J. Peters, who was born in 1990, is a combat veteran who served as a Navy SEAL in the US military.
In 2017, he tragically lost his life in a parachute accident performing at an air show in New York City, where he was just 27 years old.

Additionally, the couple separated after their children were old enough to live on their own. Their separation became a huge issue, and Tina Peters faced various accusations.
In 2021, during their official divorce settlement, Tina Peters’ husband accused her of wrongfully transferring ownership of their home to herself using a quit claim deed.
Further, Thomas Peters explained to the court that he had bought the house after their decree of legal separation in January 2018.
According to the reports, the house the couple was fighting over was worth $374,000 and was located at 2663 Eagle Ridge Drive.
