Paige Hubl allegedly passed away in a car accident, leaving behind a legecy as a former Husker!

Paige Hubl held the school single-match records for digs and service aces.

The Nebraska women’s volleyball community confirmed the demise of Paige Hubl in a tragic accident. However, Hubl’s family hasn’t revealed the nature of the incident for legal and privacy reasons.

As a former Nebraska Volleyball captain, Paige Hubl was a key part of the team’s defense and appeared in every match during the 2012 season. She joined the team in 2009 and had impressive records as a freshman.

Hubl played in two games and totaled one dig in three sets of action during her first year. With coach John Cook’s assistance, she slowly began refining her field skills.

Moreover, she took a break from the sports for a year but returned stronger in 2011 and proved to be a valuable addition to the defensive and serving specialty for the Huskers during their local games.

Soon after the news of her demise, speculation arose that Paige Hubl had lost her life in a car accident. However, official reports of the nature haven’t been publicly released.

Further, others assumed that Hubl had passed away as a result of self-harm as close family members emphasized her turbulent marriage.

Users added the clue and mentioned that her husband’s name was mentioned during the player’s grandmother’s funeral, but his name was missing from Hubl’s obituary. They mentioned that she might have taken the drastic step as an escape.

However, the sensitivity of the accident has made people question such claims, as only the family members have details about Hubl and her marital status currently.

Meanwhile, the Nebraska Huskers shared a heartfelt post for Hubl, including pictures of her matches. They described the late player as a Husker through and through. Hubl was a significant team member and made a difference in several lives.

Paige Hubl coached the LSE Volleyball team for four years and retired in 2022!

During her high school career at Lincoln Southeast High School, Hubl was a three-sport soccer, basketball, and volleyball athlete. However, she didn’t realize she would be associated with the field for several years.

Due to her excellent records, Cook offered her a place on the college volleyball team, and Hubl realized that the Huskers differed from the average team.

Further, the highlighting moment in her sports career came in her junior year as she notched a career-high 12 digs against Kansas State. The record came shortly after Hubl had played over 30 matches.

Within a year, Hubl earned the co-captain spot and had a total record of 67 digs and seven service aces until her final year. After graduating, she dwelled back to her high school and coached the girls’ volleyball team.

After her appointment at the LSE, the 34-year-old tried to make the team one of the country’s most competitive volleyball programs. The team had ranked 10th and later in the 7th position.

Additionally, players who received Hubl’s guidance described her as a supportive leader who helped them with professional and personal issues.

Later in her final two seasons, Hubl trained the team to achieve a 9-11 and 3-29 overall record. In addition to her time on the field, she worked for a student-athlete sports information website.

The LSE and Huskers community will greatly miss the talent and Hubl’s supportive nature. Adding to the tragic time, one wrote, “Just so sad! Sending so much love to her family and my Husker family!
