Miss Nicaragua title holder Geyssell Garcia made history for the country as one of the finalists of the 2024 Miss Universe pageant. However, the fame came with a price for Miss Nicaragua, as an explicit video of the contestant emerged online, tampering with her public image and reputation.
Before her journey to Miss Universe, Geyssell Garcia competed in the International Coffee Pageant in Columbia and Miss World Nicaragua 2018. Fans have praised her beauty and grace as she advocated for her country through her platform.

Moreover, confusion arose between the clips as Antury and Garcia shared similar facial features, including dark hair and eyes. Antury is a model and content creator who posts about sports, workouts, lifestyle, and travel.

Before her video was circulated on Twitter, Garcia was named a representative for Nicaragua two months before the 73rd edition of Miss Universe. The Santo Tomas native couldn’t believe the fortunate turns her life had taken within a year.
Garcia has a history with pageants. As a teenager, she won the Miss Teen Tourism crown. After completing her degree in tourism, she later participated in the Miss World Nicaragua pageant but finished as a second runner-up.
She didn’t let such failure set her back; two years later, she applied for the competition and became the first runner-up. Garcia returned to the platform again to win the title but withdrew midway due to health problems.
In a public statement, Garcia discussed her situation and remarked, “Destiny is responsible for putting everything in its place, at the right time and moment.“ Soon, she received the official band to represent her country in the international contest.
Moreover, her win in Miss Nicaragua came after the organization had taken a year-long break due to political reasons in the country. This made Garcia’s win even more unique, and the former winner, Sheynnis Palacios, showed her support for the young talent through her Instagram.
