David Jeremiah hasn’t passed away, despite several rumors about his health including a heart attack!

David Jeremiah's father was a pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Recently, news surged that David Jeremiah had suffered from a fatal illness, and followers had one question: Did he pass away? However, the pastor is alive and well despite being in his 80s.

David Jeremiah has been an integral part of the Shadow Mountain Community Church as a senior pastor. After moving to South California with his wife and children, he joined the institution.

Further, Jeremiah’s leadership led it to be affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and expand to nine satellite locations. People have widely appreciated his teachings and services, making him among the most recognized pastors in the United States.

However, his absence from the events has often sparked concerns about his health and well-being. Previously, Jeremiah took a break from pastoral duties after a fatal fall on a cruise.

The doctors advised him to rest for over a month, and Jeremiah returned with a considerable loss of weight. However, he has been transparent about his journey and used the struggle as an example of how spiritual leaders can face personal challenges.

Additionally, Facebook users mourned his passing this holiday season under false claims of a heart attack. They added that Jeremiah had taken his last breath on December 19, 2024, from the condition.

Many of his followers sent prayers and hoped for his soul’s peaceful journey to the afterlife. However, confusion persisted over the question, ‘Did David Jeremiah pass away following the illness?’

Later, his followers added that the report hadn’t been confirmed and there wasn’t any information to support such claims. This dismissed the speculation that Jeremiah had passed away recently.

David Jeremiah had been diagnosed with Lymphoma, but faith led him to a healthy life!

In 1994, doctors at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, diagnosed Jeremiah with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. They sent him back to La Jolla Care for further medical examination, giving him a low chance of survival.

A mass had developed in his lower abdomen, leading to complications in blood flow. The disease had caused infections throughout his body, and Jeremiah had to take a high amount of medication to keep working.

Moreover, Jeremiah underwent a stem cell transplant and later penned the book When Your World Falls Apart to detail his struggles with the condition. The pastor began teaching about overcoming one’s fear and illness through his religious affiliation.

The pastor added that he never doubted Christianity for a second during his diagnosis. Jeremiah stated that the illness was one of the obstacles God had thrown his way to test him and his patience.

During an interview with 100 Huntley Street, Jeremiah expressed, “God heals everybody. He heals some of us down here, he heals all of us up there. And our healing is in the Atonement because of what Jesus did on the cross.

According to Jeremiah, despite the advancements in technology and medicine, treatment wouldn’t be possible without a fraction of faith in God. The pastor detailed that only strong-spirited people can overcome the Holy Power’s trials.

However, several people have questioned such words, as many have gone as far as to call him a false teacher. Some of Jeremiah’s teachings have contradicted the Bible and its principles.

But, religion’s subjective nature and teaching have deemed him controversial. Despite the issues, Jeremiah remains one of the most popular authors, pastors, and speakers.
